Transportation:
Airline: The airline that we used was Vueling. The flights can range from 70 Euro to 140 Euro depending on when you book them and for how long you are going.
Transportation from airport: At all costs avoid using a taxi. The taxi was very expensive, costing around 55 euros. There is a train station in the airport that you can use for 13.50 Euros for a round trip.
Public Transportation: The public transportation that we used was called GVB. This is a tram throughout Amsterdam. I would recommend getting the 2 day ticket for 12 Euro in order to get around during the days to avoid using an expensive taxi.
Accommodation:
My friends and I stayed at a hostel called amigos hotel. This was a bit outside of the center of Amsterdam but had a tram stop right outside of the hostel in order to easily navigate into the city. I would recommend staying somewhere closer in order to avoid transportation costs if needed. A good site to look at would be www.hostelworld.com/. I would also recommend booking as far in advance as you can. I stayed in a mixed room with 6 of my friends and 2 strangers. The hostel accidentally booked 9 people in our room so my friends had to double up. I would not recommend this hostel. It was around 50 euro for two nights, but there are cheaper and closer ones in the city.
